Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 27, 2026

Emanata collects no data about you.

• No accounts, no tracking, no ads, no analytics. There's no sign-in and no advertising, and no analytics, crash reporting or advertising code from anyone, us included.
• Nothing is sent to us. Emanata has no servers of its own and never sends anything to us.
• Children. Emanata collects nothing from anyone, children included.

Your comics

Emanata reads comic files where you keep them and never uploads them anywhere. Comics in the Emanata folder in iCloud Drive are stored by Apple in your iCloud account, under Apple's privacy policy; we can't see them. Folders you add are read where they are, with the access you give Emanata when you choose them. Covers and page previews, including the ones Finder, Files and Quick Look show, are made on your device.

Your reading progress

Emanata remembers your place in each comic on your device. If you're signed in to iCloud, it also keeps a copy in your iCloud account so your other devices pick up where you left off: for each comic, its file name and size (to recognize it on your other devices), the page you're on, whether you've finished it, and how you read it. That copy is held by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, and we can't see it. Incognito reading saves nothing.

Handoff, widgets and Shortcuts

• Handoff. While you read, Emanata offers the comic and page to your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account, through Apple's Handoff, so you can carry on there. Turn Handoff off in your device's settings and it stops.
• Widgets. So its widgets can show what you're reading, Emanata keeps a small summary on your device (titles, pages and covers of the comics you're reading), in a place only Emanata and its widgets can read.
• Shortcuts and Siri. Emanata's actions run on your device. What they return goes only to the shortcut you run.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
